Back-up MC - Poet Testika Filch Milquetoast When and Where: This Happening is to be held on Sat., August 25th from 1 pm to 7 pm (approx.) in a Picnic Area at beautiful Cathedral Pines in Yaphank (same town, new location!) - more info to follow... Other Details: This is a Pot-luck Picnic, so please bring whatever food and drinks you would like to enjoy. Also bring drums and other percussion to sing and play along, and for the open jam, as well as bug spray, suntan lotion, folding chairs, picnic or beach blankets and tarps. (The event is rain or shine) Other activities include Arts & Crafts and Tabling from at least 3 different politically oriented organizations! CAMPING AT CATHEDRAL PINES COUNTY PARK Campsites should be available the day of the event. If you have a Suffolk county parks Green Key, the cost of a site is $15 which can accomodate 4 adults in 2 tents and 2 cars, if not, the tourist rate is $25. Several people are planning of having and informal after party in the regular camping area. Contact the group if you are interested, we can reserve a group camping site of 7 sites for $75, however 1/2 of the campers must have Green Keys, they can be purchased through the park system. Call 631 854-4949 for more information. Lastly, the real After-Party will be , most likely in mid-Sept. The date and location of the After-Party are not set yet, but the line- up is! Happening, is an outdoor counter-culture extravaganza. The first happenings or be-ins were held frequently in the late 1960’s, but our semi-annual event is held once during the summer, almost every summer. Our first Happening was held at Wildwood State Park in Wading River in 1988, and was organized by Scott Petersen and Larry Sabatino, who, although no longer organizers, we would love to have attend this year, as we celebrate our 15th Anniversary! (In other words, we missed a few years back in the day) Our version of a Be-In combines a free acoustic and electric amplified concert with a b.y.o. picnic and barbecue, speakers, poetry readings, creative arts, face and body painting, etc. For
